In conjunction With the State of the Union, it's time for Student Government Association (SGA), Elections! We're sure there are opinions on WHAT TOPICS MATTER MOST to the student body for the up coming student government elections. The MSJ would like to hear from you!

[T]he incremental value of coming to Ross is largely based on the unique job opportunities offered here by the OCD. This year, as OCD pushed incoming MBA1s harder to make job choices faster, a number of problems arose. First, MBA2s were aghast by the behavior of MBA1s at early recruiting events, and in booking OCD counseling slots. Secondly, the OCD response to students who followed the office's advice was more often than not uninspired and disappointing. Finally, few international MBA1 students have found internship opportunities in the U.S., a frustrating reality for a significant minority of the class.
[I]f OCD is going to pursue an aggressive strategy with incoming MBA students, the Dean's Office and OCD need to pay more attention to the externalities the strategy creates, be better prepared to help students succeed, and leverage the strength of the school to make sure recruiting companies are aware of the diverse culture here, and remind them of the flexibility needed to tap into the best that culture has to offer (i.e. visas, and more multinational firms.) The risk is that frustration drives more students to conduct self-directed career searches, embarrassing the school at company recruiting events, or that fewer international students commit to Ross, diminishing our culture and our relevance as a top-tier business school.- Anonymous, MBA1

Lift the unfair ban on student/faculty cohabitation!!!

I would like to ensure student representation in development the new building (design, etc.)

- Aram, MBA2

I care about getting companies to come to campus with more positions to offer. Enough of this [stuff] of coming to interview fifty candidates for three positions. It wastes their time and ours to have such a low enforced yield. We have enough companies -- let's get some more positions!

I want SGA to bring back Diet Coke.
