Does Jay-Z Really Have the Blue Print?

Abstract:
Jay-Z is prime evidence that legends never die. With his new album "The Blueprint 3," Jay has secured his place in history, topping the great Elvis Presley with 11 number one albums. Already having made serious name for himself with albums such as "Reasonable Doubt", "In my Lifetime", and "Hard Knock Life" Jay-Z titled his 6th album "The Blueprint" because he claimed he held the blueprint to a hit record....

Great Article

"The problem with this is that most people take what's thrown at them. If the radio stations and MTV are playing Jay-Z's records then he must be the "best of all time" and his record must be an "instant classic"."

Cosign.

I'm glad someone wrote it.

He's certainly not in my top 5, but I give him his due respect. People need to dig in the crates a bit and stop letting the radio tell make choices for them.

Thanks Robert. I agree with giving Jay his due respect. He has certainly earned his rep. I just don't agree that the rep should give him a free pass to a hit album with everything he puts out. If he keeps repeating himself with more Blueprint 3 like material people will eventually get used to it and the hype will die. He's gotta save his legendary rep.

I will certainly be the first to say that Jay Z does have the Blueprint. The writer seems closed to the new prespective to the move of Blueprint 3. It's amazing that it is unrecognized and the new wave of artist and productions. Jeezy, brings a swag to 'Real as it Gets' and 'The Inkredibles' are right on the beat. Alica Keys belting the paino, Empire State of Mind.I hear no 'run of the mill'rap songs. If that was the case, why is there so much airtime play.
So you have your opinion and I have mind. Respect the difference.

Absolutely, agree to disagree. But let me ask you this: after all this time since the album was released are you still spinning the record all the time the way a classic would or has it taken a backseat to something else? The hits have already had their airplay and it seems like there's not much juice left. Anyway, yes I respect and value you posting your opinion on here. Different strokes for different folks.

Yes he does have the blue print. His music is evolving with every album, he possesses that ability to make new albums, that are fresh but at the same time maintaining what made him the great rapper that he is. I would say that Blueprint 3 is the best album so far, that demonstrates how successful he is and still remains. Compare that to other rappers, they have frequently produced below par albums, Jay-Z continues to make great albums.
